[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] Electric ranges are emerging as essential kitchen appliances that are replacing gas ranges. This is due to their safety advantages, such as no carbon monoxide or fine dust emissions, and high thermal efficiency that saves cooking time.
Home appliance company Cuckoo Electronics announced on the 8th that sales of induction ranges last month increased by 236% compared to the same period last year. During the same period, sales of hybrid products combining induction and highlight also rose by 23%.
Cuckoo induction ranges are equipped with Induction Heating (IH) technology, which has a cumulative sales volume of 18 million units. The company explained that it is gaining popularity as a ‘gourmet appliance’ that brings out the best taste of food with powerful heat and excellent temperature control.
Cuckoo Electronics provides a wireless probe thermometer as an accessory to customers who purchase the ‘White Chefstick Induction’ released last month. This thermometer can be directly inserted into ingredients such as meat, broth, or oil in a container. Through Bluetooth functionality, it links with the induction range main unit to provide detailed cooking guidelines. Cuckoo Electronics expects this product to become a representative model driving the growth of induction ranges.
The ‘Ultra High Temperature Mode,’ which supports up to 3400 watts (W) of power, overcomes the drawback of general electric ranges where uneven temperature differences cause food to cook unevenly. According to Cuckoo Electronics, the average cooking temperature of the White Chefstick Induction is at the industry’s highest level. It can accurately maintain a low output of around 400 watts (W) for a long time, making waterless cooking easy and convenient.
