Assemblyman Yongbin Lee Secures 1.3 Billion KRW in Special Grants from Ministry of the Interior for Pyeongdong Industrial Complex Road Expansion and More
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Congressman Lee Yong-bin (Democratic Party of Korea, Gwangju Gwangsan Gap) announced on the 7th that he secured 1.3 billion KRW in special grants from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The special grants secured in December this year include 600 million KRW for road expansion between Pyeongdong Industrial Complex and Pyeongdong Post Office, and 700 million KRW for the improvement of aging facilities at Donggok Drainage Pump Station.
The road from Pyeongdong Industrial Complex to Pyeongdong Post Office has a narrow width compared to the volume of vehicle traffic, and there is no separate pedestrian section, resulting in a high rate of traffic accidents and ongoing safety concerns.
With the budget secured this time, the road expansion between Pyeongdong Industrial Complex and Pyeongdong Post Office will proceed, improving pedestrian safety and resolving residents' inconvenience in commuting.
In addition, the aging facilities of the Donggok Drainage Pump Station in Gwangsan-gu, which had been a concern for flooding damage during heavy rains, will be completely improved.
Congressman Lee Yong-bin said, “This special grant from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety focuses on protecting the safety of local residents from disasters and resolving daily complaints to provide a more comfortable living environment for residents.” He added, “I will continue to do my best to secure funding so that projects directly related to citizens’ lives can proceed smoothly.”
Meanwhile, the special grants in the first half of this year totaled 900 million KRW, including 300 million KRW for sidewalk maintenance around Bityeoulchae Apartments in Usan-dong, Gwangsan-gu, 400 million KRW for road construction around Woobang IU Shell in Unnam-dong, and 200 million KRW for dredging work in Pyeongdong Stream. Additionally, 500 million KRW secured as a special grant from Gwangju City in September is planned to be used for LED lighting replacement near KTX Songjeong Station.
