Korea National Oil Corporation Strengthens Human Rights Management System
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Korea National Oil Corporation (KNOC) held a Human Rights Management Committee meeting on the 7th, with participation from both internal and external KNOC personnel.
KNOC introduced a human rights management system by establishing the Human Rights Management Charter in 2019.
The Human Rights Management Committee includes external members such as Professor Lee Sang-cheol from the Department of Public Policy at Pusan National University, certified labor attorney Lim Seung-beom, and lawyer Jo Su-jin, while the head of KNOC's Management Support Headquarters participates as an internal member.
The 4th Human Rights Management Committee will additionally establish a human rights management manual alongside the existing human rights management regulations.
The committee resolved to strengthen the KNOC human rights management system by reviewing the results of human rights impact assessments on major projects.
Lee Sang-cheol, Chair of KNOC's Human Rights Management Committee, stated, "We expect Korea National Oil Corporation to become a leading public institution in human rights management."

Woo Jin-ha, head of KNOC's Management Support Headquarters, said, "We will enhance the protection of human rights for internal and external stakeholders of the corporation and manage human rights violation risks to advance the level of human rights management."
