The ESG Rating Committee of the Korea Corporate Governance Service selected a total of six companies as excellent governance companies, and Hyundai Capital is the first and only capital company to be selected as an excellent company.
To improve governance practices, Hyundai Capital established regulations allowing the audit committee to hold meetings with external auditors without the attendance of management, and strengthened the independence of internal control bodies by composing the nomination committee for executives entirely of outside directors. In addition, active committee activities such as the risk management committee upgraded the expertise of governance improvement efforts, which was highly evaluated.
A Hyundai Capital official said, "Various efforts to improve governance practices, along with the top management's commitment to building sound governance and the board of directors' active activities, were the driving forces behind this excellent company selection," adding, "We plan to take a leading role not only in governance but also in other ESG areas such as environment and social responsibility in the future."
