Ban Ki-moon Likely to Attend Beijing Winter Olympics... "Promoting Peace and Harmony"
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has reportedly announced plans to attend the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in his capacity as Chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Ethics Commission.
According to Chinese media on the 5th, Ban recently stated in an interview with Chinese outlets that he has already received an invitation to attend the Beijing Winter Olympics and will participate as the Chair of the IOC Ethics Commission.
In particular, Ban said, "I believe the Beijing Winter Olympics will be a great success in promoting peace and harmony in the world."

Meanwhile, the IOC held its 138th Executive Board meeting in Tokyo, Japan, last July and reappointed Ban as Chair of the Ethics Commission. Ban, who was first appointed as Chair of the IOC Ethics Commission in September 2017, is expected to continue his four-year term until 2025.
