Haenam-gun, Scholarship Support for 182 Students in the Second Half of the Year

Haenam County selected 182 people in 6 fields and awarded a total of 148 million KRW in scholarships, holding a scholarship certificate awarding ceremony. ? Asia Economy

[Haenam＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Hyun] Jeonnam Haenam-gun (Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) selected 182 students in six categories, including special talent scholarship students in arts and sports, as Haenam-gun scholarship students for the second half of 2021, and awarded a total of 148 million won in scholarships along with a scholarship certificate ceremony.

According to the county on the 4th, the awarding ceremony was held in the large conference room of Haenam County Office, adhering to social distancing guidelines with about 70 attendees including scholarship students, parents, and teachers, adjusting the number of attendees by category in consideration of COVID-19 prevention guidelines.

The second half Haenam-gun scholarship selection included 30 hopeful scholarship students each from Haenam High School and Haenam Technical High School, 30 gifted technical scholarship students from Haenam Technical High School, 10 academic excellence scholarship students from Songji High School and 17 from Hwawon High School, 6 future hope scholarship students each from Songji High School and Hwawon High School, 39 special talent scholarship students in arts and sports from elementary, middle, and high school, and 14 Dream scholarship students who are out-of-school youth.

Scholarships were awarded between 600,000 and 1,000,000 won per person. In the first half of this year, 36 academic excellence scholarship students from Haenam High School were selected and awarded 48 million won in scholarships.

Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan said, “I sincerely congratulate those who were selected as scholarship students for doing their best in their fields despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19,” and added, “Please remember the affection and support of the residents contained in the scholarship funds and run toward your dreams as talents of Haenam.”
