Namwon-si Selected for 'Yocheon-ro Signboard Improvement Project'
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk Province (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 3rd that the 'Yocheon-ro Signboard Improvement Project' in the Jukhang-dong area has been selected for next year's Pretty Signboard Decoration Contest hosted by Jeonbuk Province.
To prepare for this contest, the city held a project briefing and collected residents' consent forms from the project target area last October. After the first document evaluation and the second on-site evaluation, the area was finally selected as the project target site.
Yocheon-ro, the project target area, is a tourist hub including Gwanghallu Garden and attracts many tourists every year. However, due to COVID-19, the number of tourists decreased and the commercial district shrank. Through this signboard improvement project, it is expected to create new vitality and revitalize the commercial district.
The city plans to install excellent signboard designs by reflecting the opinions of outdoor advertising experts and business owners as much as possible. The project area will be designated as a pilot zone for advertising maintenance, and the city will continuously maintain a beautiful and pleasant street.
