The Consumer-Centered Management (CCM) certification system is a statutory certification system granted by evaluating whether a company organizes all management activities it performs from the consumer’s perspective and continuously improves them in accordance with the Framework Act on Consumers. The Korea Consumer Agency evaluates, and the Fair Trade Commission certifies.
Companies seeking CCM certification are evaluated in four major categories: ▲ leadership of executives such as the CEO to practice consumer-centered management ▲ establishment of an internal system for consumer-centered management ▲ actual operation results of consumer-centered management ▲ performance management for continuous consumer-centered management. As a result of the evaluation, Sempio received excellent ratings in the areas of ‘providing consumer information’ and ‘improving consumer complaints.’
In terms of providing consumer information, Sempio received high marks for including illustrated recipes on product packaging to help consumers enjoy the products more deliciously. A representative example is the back of the Saemine Kitchen Kimchi Seasoning, which presents how to use the kimchi seasoning with illustrations and allows anyone to easily watch recipe videos by scanning a QR code. Additionally, through the double label on the lid of the Sempio Tojang (fermented soybean paste) jar, recipes for using Tojang are provided so that consumers can naturally check recipes while using the product.
Also, the case of reflecting consumer complaints and suggestions to improve products was highly evaluated. For the cooking essence Yeondu, an eco-friendly package was introduced that makes it easy to separate the glass bottle and plastic cap for disposal. In response to customer feedback requesting that the pasta sauce’s ‘bottle and label be easy to separate,’ the label was improved to one that is easy to separate from the bottle without leaving adhesive residue.
