KT Raises Official Subsidy for Galaxy S20+ Again... Actual Purchase Price Starting from 200,000 KRW
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] Ahead of the launch of Samsung Electronics' next strategic flagship 'Galaxy S22' series, the value of last year's released 'Galaxy S20+' has dropped further. This is seen as a kind of inventory clearance move linked to the year-end shopping season.
According to the related industry on the 3rd, KT raised the official subsidy for the S20+ from a maximum of 700,000 won to 770,000 won as of that day. This is the second adjustment in about four months, following the only move among the three mobile carriers last August to lower the S20+ retail price from 1,248,500 won to 1,144,000 won and increase the subsidy.
When using KT's 5G Super Plan Choice tariff, the actual purchase price reflecting additional subsidies from the distribution network drops to 258,500 won.

This is interpreted as an effort to clear inventory ahead of the launch of next year's strategic flagship S22 series. SK Telecom and LG Uplus also raised the official subsidies for the same model last month to a maximum of 700,000 won and 800,000 won, respectively.
