Ministry of Education Holds Training for Overseas Youth Korean Language Education
Over 300 Trainees from 22 Countries Including New Southern and New Northern Regions Participate
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Ministry of Education and the International Korean Language Education Foundation conducted an online Korean language education training for overseas youth from the 1st to the 3rd.
About 300 participants, including middle and high school students, university students, and instructors from 22 countries in the New Southern and New Northern regions, Asia, and Oceania, took part in this training.
On the first day of the training, the 1st, participants selected one of Korean poetry, novels, or essays according to their proficiency level and presented their reviews in a speaking contest. On the 2nd, customized Korean language lectures were conducted using sample textbooks for overseas elementary and secondary Korean language learners currently under development.
On the final day, the 3rd, traditional folk games such as Yutnori and Tug of War were introduced to allow indirect experience of Korean culture.
At the Korean culture appreciation presentation, Rawifun Jippakdibunrat from Thailand and Abdokodirova Sevinch from Uzbekistan, who presented excellent reviews, received awards from the Minister of Education, and a total of 16 recipients were selected.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education Yoo Eun-hye said, "If the overseas youth attending this training further hone their Korean language skills, they can serve as a strong bridge connecting Korea and their home countries," adding, "We will continue to expand opportunities for Korean language education and provide necessary support so that overseas youth can receive high-quality Korean language education."
