The National Assembly's Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting and Communications Committee held a plenary session that day and passed several bills, but was unable to discuss the adoption of the confirmation hearing report for nominee Kim.
In political circles, there is speculation that since the deadline for adopting the report has passed, President Moon Jae-in will effectively push through the appointment of nominee Kim.
If this appointment is forced, nominee Kim is expected to become the 34th minister-level official appointed without opposition party consent during the current administration.
