[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Choi Gyu-nam, head of the Future Business Team at SK Supex Council (also serving as head of the Environment TF, photo), was promoted to president in the personnel changes announced on the 2nd. Supex is a consultative body that supports decision-making for major affiliates of SK Group.
According to the council, Vice President Choi was promoted, and four new executives were appointed in this personnel reshuffle. The existing structure of seven committees (Strategy, Governance, Environmental Business, ICT, Communication, Talent Development, Social Value) will be maintained, and the current committee chairs will continue in their roles.
The newly appointed President Choi previously worked at foreign banks and asset management firms and served as CEO of Jeju Air. He joined SK Supex in 2018 as the head of Global Business Development, supporting the discovery of new overseas business opportunities for major affiliates.
The Supex Council stated, "We will continue to expand to provide shared infrastructure such as ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and talent development to execute the financial story, which is the growth strategy of our affiliates. We will also accelerate the establishment of global business bases and the discovery of future and eco-friendly business opportunities."

Meanwhile, SK did not announce this round of executive appointments or organizational restructuring collectively for the group affiliates but made separate announcements for each affiliate. An SK official said, "Each board of directors took the lead in deciding organizational restructuring and executive appointments to implement the financial story. As board-centered management, which has been promoted so far, becomes full-fledged, this will be an opportunity to create a governance story that surpasses global standards."
