Gangjin-gun YB Team Advances to K5, the Top Amateur Football League

[Gangjin＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] The Jeonnam Gangjin-gun Football Association (President Choi Hyuk) announced on the 1st that Gangjin YB team won 5:3 against Hanul FC in the promotion playoff of the Sido League K6 on the 28th of last month and was promoted to the K5 League, the highest amateur league.

This K6 Jeonnam regional league was hosted by the Korea Football Association and organized by the Jeonnam Football Association, Gangjin Sports Council, and Gangjin Football Association. It was divided into two leagues, A and B, with six teams playing a 5-round schedule.

The Gangjin YB team, composed of players in their 20s to 30s, secured the final promotion playoff ticket with 4 wins and 1 draw in this K6 league. On the 28th, they won the first match of the final promotion playoff against Bia Football Club 3:1, and in the second match against Hanul FC, they recorded a 5:3 score, confirming their advancement to the K5 League.

Choi Hyuk, president of the Gangjin Football Association, said, “I sincerely congratulate the Gangjin YB team players for their promotion with high-level performance,” and added, “We will spare no support to help them establish themselves as a powerhouse in the K5 League.”

Hong Seok-bin, captain of the Gangjin YB team, said, “Now that we have advanced to the region’s top league, we will do our best aiming for the K5 League championship and entry into the championship,” and expressed gratitude, “We thank Gangjin-gun and the Gangjin Football Association for their great support and interest until our promotion to the K5 League.”
