The museum, which opened in November 2007, has managed 18,421 cases and 30,058 artifacts donated or deposited over 14 years.
It exhibits treasure-level artifacts and classical texts spanning various eras, from prehistoric relics to Three Kingdoms period pottery, Goryeo and Joseon celadon, white porcelain, old documents, and modern materials, including pottery, ceramics, wooden objects, folk items, and modern photographs.
The event was held to express gratitude to over 70 people who donated or deposited artifacts to the Sangju Museum and to promote the culture of donation and deposit.
Donors received plaques of appreciation, cards, and souvenirs, and were given tours of the donated artifacts on display and in storage.
Mr. Kim Hongjun of the Yeongsan Kim clan association, who donated numerous woodblocks kept by his clan, said, “I hope the donated artifacts will become the cornerstone for verifying Sangju’s history, and that many citizens will participate in the donation relay.”
