[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 29th that Deputy Mayor Shin Jong-woo visited elderly care facilities and senior centers to urge compliance with quarantine rules and additional vaccinations (booster shots) following the phased recovery of daily life from COVID-19.
As the phased recovery of daily life has recently begun, concerns have grown over the loosening of quarantine measures in vulnerable facilities such as elderly care facilities and senior centers, amid a surge in COVID-19 infections and an increase in severe cases centered on nursing hospitals and elderly facilities. Deputy Mayor Shin took direct action to address this issue.
Deputy Mayor Shin stated, “Additional vaccinations for high-risk groups whose vaccine effectiveness has decreased and active participation in vaccination by the unvaccinated are absolutely necessary.”
He also urged, “Please take the lead in preventing infectious diseases by complying with quarantine rules and receiving additional vaccinations at vulnerable facilities such as elderly care facilities and senior centers.”
