Sojinkong Partners with Korea Environment Corporation for Carbon Neutrality
[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] The Small Enterprise and Market Service announced on the 29th that it has signed a business agreement with the Korea Environment Corporation to transition to a carbon-neutral society.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will jointly promote various activities including ▲energy saving in non-industrial sectors (households and commercial facilities) targeting small business owners ▲providing energy usage monitoring and greenhouse gas reduction data when small business owners participate in the Carbon Point Program ▲energy-saving consulting for small business owners.
Additionally, the Small Enterprise and Market Service will work with the Environment Corporation to accelerate the expansion of new memberships in the Carbon Point Program. The Carbon Point Program is a greenhouse gas reduction program in which about 2 million households across 16 cities and provinces nationwide, excluding Seoul, participate. Participants receive economic incentives based on their performance in reducing greenhouse gases. Self-employed individuals, including small business owners, who join the Carbon Point Program can receive up to 100,000 KRW annually, and up to 100,000 KRW annually for reducing the mileage of their owned vehicles. Furthermore, benefits such as reduced interest rates on credit loans and preferential interest rates on savings and deposits are available at institutions like NH Nonghyup Bank, which have signed business agreements with the Carbon Point Program.
