Lee Jun-seok: "Party Leader Passing Controversy is Unfounded... Kim Byung-joon is the 'One Top' of the Campaign Committee"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, stated on the 28th that the 'party leader passing controversy' is 'unthinkable.'
Through social media (SNS) on the same day, Lee said, "The idea of passing is unthinkable," and added, "The People Power Party presidential campaign committee plans to operate with Chairman Kim Byung-joon as the sole leader."
He continued, "Although I am conventionally serving as an ex officio co-chief of the campaign committee, I will concede all authority except for the publicity-media area I am in charge of to Chairman Kim." This means that although both Chairman Kim and Lee serve as co-chiefs of the campaign committee, the actual authority will be exercised by Chairman Kim.
Earlier, on the 26th, right after Chairman Kim held a press conference expressing his intention to "work hard," Lee stated that he was unaware of the content of Kim's press conference. Regarding the party leader passing controversy, Chairman Kim said, "I did not even tell the candidate," and added, "(The press conference) was held as the standing chairman."
