Representative Kim Taeyoung's Proposal
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The “Partial Amendment to the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Waste Management Ordinance,” proposed by Kim Tae-young, a member of the Seo-gu Council of Gwangju Metropolitan City, was approved on the 26th at the 2nd regular meeting of the 300th session by the Social and Urban Committee.
The main content of this ordinance amendment is to revise the waste fee reduction target from “survivors or family members recognized as having difficulty in livelihood under Article 5 of the Act on the Honoring and Support of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State” to “persons aged 65 or older among the honorees and support recipients under Article 3 of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Seo-gu Ordinance on the Honoring and Support of National Veterans.”
Assemblyman Kim said, “The existing support target regulations are ambiguous, so only a very small number of people have been receiving fee reduction benefits,” and added, “Through this amendment, we aim to significantly expand the support targets and establish a foundation to honor national veterans by proposing this ordinance.”
