The convenient chair, commonly called Jjogeuri, is a farming cushion attached to the buttocks to prevent musculoskeletal disorders such as farmer's syndrome caused by simple repetitive labor performed by farmers.
Farmers often perform farming tasks while sitting, which increases pressure on the knees and waist, frequently causing musculoskeletal disorders known as farmer's syndrome.
This year, the county invested 100 million won in the project and distributed 7,692 Jjogeuri chairs to elderly and female farmers in 14 towns and townships.
In particular, existing products were inconvenient as they had to be worn on the worker's legs, but the newly distributed Jjogeuri can be easily attached and detached by simply fastening it to a belt, and its sturdy material adds convenience.
A county official said, "In the reality of rural areas that are increasingly aging and feminizing, we hope this will help farmers suffering from farmer's syndrome and musculoskeletal disorders even a little," and added, "We will continue to actively expand policies to improve the agricultural environment."
