[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] POSCO Engineering & Construction announced on the 25th that it will open the model house of ‘Songdo American Town The Sharp’ in Songdo International City, Incheon on the 26th and begin full-scale sales. Unlike the previous apartments that were sold only to overseas Koreans and foreigners, the officetels will be sold to domestic residents.
The complex located in Songdo-dong, Songdo International City, Incheon consists of 4 buildings ranging from 3 basement floors to a maximum of 70 floors above ground, with a total of 1,159 units including 498 apartment units and 661 officetel units. Among these, the 661 officetel units, excluding the 498 apartment units that have already been sold, are scheduled for sale. The officetels are composed of the following types: ▲27㎡ 208 units ▲42㎡ 82 units ▲64㎡ 242 units ▲82㎡ 129 units.
Applications will be accepted on the Korea Real Estate Board’s subscription website from November 30 to December 1 for two days. Winners will be announced on the 6th, and contracts for the winners are scheduled to be signed over three days from the 8th to the 10th.
Near the complex, major domestic bio companies such as Samsung Biologics, Samsung Bioepis, and Celltrion are located in Songdo. With the announcement of the K-Bio Lab Hub (scheduled for 2026) and the relocation of SK Bioscience headquarters (planned for 2025), the area is expected to expand into a large-scale bio research industrial cluster.
Additionally, campus towns are being formed including Yonsei University International Campus, Incheon Global Campus, and the planned Inha University Songdo Campus. Severance Hospital (scheduled for 2026) and Yonsei Science Park (scheduled for 2030) are also being established, which is expected to build an advanced cluster integrating industry, academia, research, and medical fields.
The complex boasts a prime location about a 3-minute walk from Campustown Station on Incheon Line 1. It offers convenient access to Seoul and Incheon Airport, and with the GTX Line B scheduled to be completed in 2027 passing through Songdo, accessibility to Seoul is expected to improve.

The officetels in the complex will incorporate POSCO Engineering & Construction’s specialized floor plans to enhance practicality and create hotel-style lobby spaces to increase residential satisfaction. Depending on the situation, emotional lighting ‘The Sharp Lumina,’ which allows free adjustment of brightness and color temperature, will be provided as standard. POSCO’s smart technology AiQ TECH will be applied to automatically control lighting, heating, gas, and ventilation. UV-C LED sterilization lighting will be installed inside the elevators to eliminate viruses and bacteria. Community facilities exclusive to residents, such as a fitness center and golf practice range, will also be provided.
