LG Uplus Updates 'Annyeong-France' Content on U+DIVE
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] LG Uplus announced on the 24th that it will revamp the virtual reality (VR) France travel content "Annyeong-France" provided on U+DIVE.
"Annyeong-France" is France-related travel, performance, and art content offered in collaboration with the Embassy of France in Korea. It was planned to help customers experience French culture vividly amid difficulties in overseas travel due to COVID-19. Since its release through the U+VR application last August, it has been transferred to the integrated virtual and augmented reality (VR·AR) platform "U+DIVE," launched this month.
With this revamp, LG Uplus will present an expanded content lineup from about 20 to a total of over 30 pieces. Representative new content includes "Beethoven 360" and "Mozart 360."
Beethoven 360 is a performance content of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, commonly known as the "Fate Symphony," delivering deep and profound emotions through melodies created by world-renowned conductor Laurence Equilbey. Mozart 360 is a performance content of the "Coronation Mass," one of Mozart's representative religious music works, providing a highly immersive experience with spatially enhanced 3D sound.
Additionally, users can watch over 20 existing cultural and artistic contents, including visits to Paris travel spots such as Saint-Eustache Church, the Seine River, and the Eiffel Tower; a VR documentary capturing the Notre-Dame Cathedral before and after the fire; performances and acts by famous artists like Stella Jang, Fabian, and Yuval; and concerts by renowned musicians such as Vincent Peirani and Anne Paceo.
According to LG Uplus, "Annyeong-France" shows an average viewing time 25 times higher than existing overseas travel VR content. With the upcoming Summer Olympics being held in Paris, customer interest in visiting France has significantly increased, and LG Uplus plans to continuously expand France-related content accordingly.
The U+DIVE app is available not only to LG Uplus customers but also to other mobile and MVNO customers, and can be downloaded for free from Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and One Store.
Philippe Lefort, the Ambassador of France to Korea, said, "Virtual reality offers a new form of travel possible without physically moving through space," adding, "Virtual reality is also a new domain like the era of the Lumi?re brothers who pioneered films beloved by Koreans and French alike, and with the advent of the metaverse, all interactive forms of virtual reality will transform our society."
Yoonho Choi, Executive Director of XR Business at LG Uplus, said, "We are pleased to present various France-related cultural content once again on U+DIVE through collaboration with the French Embassy," adding, "We plan to discuss expanding collaboration countries and fields so that users can experience more diverse immersive content on U+DIVE, which integrates AR, VR content, and metaverse-oriented XR exhibition halls."

Meanwhile, LG Uplus plans to continue its partnership with France, a leader in media technology.
