Hampyeong-gun to Conduct Continuous Vehicle Emission Inspections Until the End of March Next Year
Targeting Vehicle-Dense Areas Such as Terminals and Chagojis
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County is focusing its administrative efforts to create a pleasant air environment free from fine dust concerns.
According to the county on the 23rd, in preparation for the implementation of the 3rd Fine Dust Seasonal Management System (December this year to March next year), special inspections on vehicle emissions will be conducted, focusing on areas with dense vehicle traffic such as terminals.
To this end, a special inspection team will be organized to conduct inspections on diesel vehicles from December 1st to the end of March next year, including idling control (parking or stopping for more than 2 minutes) and emission concentration measurements.
Before the inspections, to prevent confusion among drivers, special inspection promotions will be carried out using banners and electronic display boards at two terminals (Hampyeong and Munjang) and in the downtown areas of nine towns and townships within the county.
During the inspection period, if violations are detected, administrative measures such as improvement orders and fines will be imposed in accordance with the Air Quality Preservation Act.
County Governor Lee Sang-ik stated, “We will conduct continuous inspections targeting areas with dense vehicle traffic to reduce fine dust,” and urged, “Drivers themselves should also comply with the emission standards.”
