Pack of Dogs Terrorizing Urban Residential Area... Police and Firefighters' Luring Operation Successful, Dog Owners Under Review for Punishment
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] “A pack of dogs appeared!”
In an urban residential area, a group of dogs roaming without leashes caused residents to live in fear.
The police and 119 firefighters responded and successfully lured the pack of dogs back to the owner’s house, bringing the commotion to an end.
According to the Busanjin Police Station in Busan on the 23rd, at around 8:50 p.m. on the 22nd, multiple dogs were reported roaming in a pack in the alleyways of a residential area in Beomcheon-dong, Busanjin-gu, causing anxiety among residents.
Police from the Seomyeon District Unit arrived and saw that 6 out of 9 dogs owned by a man in his 60s were roaming without leashes, and requested cooperation from the 119 firefighters to control the situation.
The “control team” decided that luring the dogs was better than capturing them and guided them back to the owner’s house.
After confirming the owner’s relinquishment of ownership of the 6 unleashed dogs, the police handed them over to the Busanjin District Office as abandoned dogs at around 11:30 p.m.
