Naju Mayor Kang In-gyu Holds Open Dialogue with Public Officials
[Naju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Kang In-gyu, mayor of Naju, Jeollanam-do, held a dialogue session with 33 rookie public officials who took their first step in the public service and listened to their reflections, determination, and suggestions since their appointment.
The city announced on the 22nd that it recently held the third open dialogue between the mayor and employees at the Naju Moksa Naea to create a happy workplace culture.
The dialogue focused on building empathy and motivation with new employees who had started their public service life less than a month ago, combining outings and games, which received great responses from the employees.
Before the dialogue, Mayor Kang created a comfortable atmosphere by participating in new employee games such as "Ttakji-chigi" and "Mugunghwa Kkot-i Pieosseumnida," which appeared in the globally popular drama "Squid Game," starting with a cultural heritage tour of the Eupseong area with employees amid the phased daily recovery.
He also encouraged the new employees, who are still unfamiliar with the public service, by sincerely sharing his life before and after taking office as a head of the organization and memorable administrative episodes under the theme "Everyone has a beginning."
The employees also shared stories about their "motivation for applying for public service," "reflections on one month of public service," "future determination and hopes," and "first meetings with senior and fellow public officials," providing a time to instill responsibility and motivation as public servants.
Mayor Kang In-gyu said, "As the main actors leading Naju's future 100 years, I hope public officials do their best in their duties with the awareness that public officials must be happy for citizens to be happy," adding, "I will frequently create dialogue opportunities to promote harmony and communication among employees so that rookie employees can adapt well to the unfamiliar public service environment."
