Geochang-gun Included in 6 Projects of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Baekdudaegan Area Comprehensive Development Plan
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that six projects totaling 64 billion KRW have been included in the "Baekdudaegan Region Comprehensive Development Plan," which the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport proposed as a mid- to long-term future development strategy for the Baekdudaegan region targeting 2030.
The six projects in Geochang-gun are significant as they are reflected in the Baekdudaegan Region Comprehensive Legal Development Plan under the "Special Act on the Development of the East, West, South Coast and Inland Regions."
This plan is a revised version of the existing plan to ensure continuity, as the validity period of the Baekdudaegan Region Comprehensive Development Plan, announced in 2014, has been extended from 2020 to 2030.
The six projects included in this plan are ▲ Wild Ginseng Cluster Development Project ▲ Organic Agricultural Industry Complex Service Support Complex Development Project ▲ Geumwonsan Forest Healing Center Development ▲ Geochang Changpo Garden Green Infrastructure Expansion Project ▲ Terrain Restoration of the Marugeum Disconnection Section ▲ Cultural Tourism Historic Site Development Project Utilizing the Ucheokhyeon Battle.
In particular, the Wild Ginseng Cluster Development Project and the Cultural Tourism Historic Site Development Project Utilizing the Ucheokhyeon Battle were selected as core projects to be prioritized by the plan’s ‘Core Project Selection Evaluation Committee,’ and are expected to greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy.
