Gwangju Seo-gu to Conduct 'Children's Playground Safety Inspection' Until the 30th
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Seo Dae-seok) is promoting safety guardian activities targeting children's playgrounds in the district until the 30th.
According to Seo-gu on the 22nd, the activity involves inspecting 336 children's playgrounds in apartment complexes and urban parks within the district for damage to playground equipment and auxiliary facilities, as well as checking for hazardous materials and other factors that could cause safety accidents for children.
In addition to inspecting children's playgrounds, the activity mainly focuses on checking illegal parking, one of the seven chronic safety neglect practices (▲illegal parking/stopping ▲blocking emergency exits and placing objects ▲speeding ▲not wearing seat belts ▲non-compliance with construction site safety rules ▲carrying flammable materials while hiking ▲not wearing life jackets), and also conducts safety reporting activities.
Before the safety guardian activities, Seo-gu conducted safety guardian training on the 10th, covering the duties and directions of safety guardians and familiarizing them with safety reporting methods through the Safety Report App.
A Seo-gu official said, "We will strive to ensure that children can play in a safe play environment through the active inspection activities of safety guardians," and added, "We will do our best to contribute to making Seo-gu safe through reporting activities aimed at eradicating safety neglect practices."
Safety guardians were introduced to expand the role of the private sector in preventive safety reporting and inspections. Only members of disaster and safety-related organizations or individuals who are familiar with the local area, have activity performance and expertise, and have completed related education such as preventive guidance training and obtained a qualification certificate can act as safety guardians.
