Jeonju City to Host 'Golmok Sangkwon Dream Festival' Until the 18th of Next Month
Held at a total of 18 locations... First Majung-gil this weekend, including traditional markets
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 22nd that it will promote the ‘Jeonju Alleyway Commercial District Dream Festival’ at a total of 18 locations, including 9 commercial districts such as Seoshin-dong Gil Park area and 9 traditional markets and shopping districts, until the 18th of next month.
The Alleyway Commercial District Dream Festival, held under the theme of overcoming the COVID-19 crisis (Dream), aims to revitalize consumption in local commercial districts. It will be vibrantly conducted with consumption promotion events, cultural and artistic performances, and experiences tailored to the characteristics of each commercial district, in collaboration with local small business owners, residents, community groups, and cultural artists.
Specifically, the festival will feature △ “Kkakkadeurim” (discount sales such as closing sales and “Motnani” sales) △ “Nanuedeurim” (receipt events and menu discount events) △ “Gachideurim” (value sharing, where famous chefs pass on their secrets to small stores) △ “Gajokdeurim” (family discounts at restaurants and neighborhood alley communication spaces), each operated with unique characteristics.
Additionally, exhibitions using vacant stores within the commercial districts, busking performances, and sales of meal kits from local restaurants will also enhance the festive atmosphere.
First, on the 27th, the festival will be held at alleyway commercial districts such as Cheotmajung-gil in front of Jeonju Station, Uwa 4-gil, as well as at Jungang Shopping Market, Moraenae Market, Dongmun Shopping District, Seobu Market, Nambu Market, Sinjungang Market, Jeonju Electronics Shopping District, and Jeonbuk National University Daehak-ro Shopping District.
In the Uwa-dong area including Cheotmajung-gil, the Uwa-dong Black “Halindei” (10% discount event and raffle) will be held, along with flea markets, food stalls, and busking performances.
At Jungang Shopping Market, there will be a 20% discount event on clothing; at Moraenae Market, closing special sales; at Jeonbuk National University Daehak-ro Shopping District, the Jeondae Play Zone (raffle and meal tickets) and Startup Zone (sales of products from Jeonbuk National University Startup Support Group); at Nambu Market, food stalls and the 10th anniversary event of the Youth Mall; and at Sinjungang Market, its own discount events along with cultural performances and experience events will take place.
Furthermore, on the 4th of next month, the festival will continue at traditional markets and shopping districts, as well as near Matnae 3-gil in Pyeonghwa-dong, Seohak-dong Art Village area, and Yeoui-dong Pyeonun-ro commercial district. On the 11th, it will proceed at Seoshin-dong Gil Park area, maintaining the year-end festive atmosphere until the 18th.
Prior to this, on the 20th and 21st, the Innovation City Clock Tower Plaza shopping district and Gijije shopping district each hosted the Innovation Commercial District Dream Festival under the themes “Meet on the First Snow Day at the Clock Tower” and “Gijije Sunset Concert.”
Various performances including popera, resident-participation flea markets, and healthy walking with families attracted high interest from residents. The shopping district usage coupons provided on these days are valid until the 18th.
