The hotel transformed its 34th-floor club lounge, remodeled last December, into a gallery for December, providing an opportunity to appreciate works by popular emerging artists. Along with this, a 'Charity Art Exhibition' will be held where customers can directly participate in a charity auction. When customers purchase artworks, 15% of the purchase amount is automatically donated. This event was organized in collaboration with popular emerging artists who share the hotel's purpose and the mobile art auction platform 'FLEA:AUCTION.' Donations collected through artwork sales over the month will be used for art education for children in orphanages who are deprived of art education, through the G Foundation.
The 'Charity Art Exhibition' in the 34th-floor club lounge will have its exhibited works changed every two weeks. From December 1 to 15, works conveying a warm atmosphere and mood of love during the cold winter under the theme 'Warm Embrace' will be displayed. Works by artists such as Lee Ji-hyun, Yang Un-cheol, and Jeje will be exhibited, and auction participation is available through the FLEA:AUCTION app from December 7 to 14.
From December 16 to January 2 of next year, under the theme 'Christmas Art Gallery,' colorful and bright works matching the joyful Christmas mood will be showcased. Works by Choi Eun-byeol, who has recently gained attention for vibrant art toys, as well as 275C and artist Byeon Dae-yong, will be exhibited. Auction participation via the FLEA:AUCTION app is available from December 23 to 30.
Meanwhile, at the hotel’s first-floor lobby entrance, the 'Christmas Tree of Hope' exhibition and charity event, held annually for 19 years since 2003 at the end of each year, will take place. A special exhibition of 160 InterContinental signature iBears will be held.
Each teddy bear will have a 'Love Card' requested by the sponsor or guardian attached along with the sponsor’s logo after the donation is made, and will be displayed in the hotel lobby until early January next year. The Christmas Tree of Hope is part of the 'Warm Winter Ondol Project,' conducted by Gangnam-gu and the Community Chest of Korea (Fruit of Love), and all donations will be used for low-income residents in Gangnam-gu. The donation amounts are 100,000 KRW for a small teddy bear and 1,000,000 KRW for a large teddy bear, and donation receipts can be issued.
