Hanwha Aerospace Publishes First Sustainability Report... Accelerating ESG Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunjin Jeong] Hanwha Aerospace announced on the 22nd that it has published its first sustainability report.
Hanwha Aerospace released the "2021 Sustainability Report" on the 19th, covering its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities and management performance from the previous year. The report introduces achievements related to △environmental safety and health management △social contribution △shared growth △ethical and compliance management △information security. Through the report, Hanwha Aerospace plans to communicate the economic, social, and environmental values and outcomes generated by its business activities with various stakeholders.
This report follows the global ESG reporting guideline, the GRI Standards, and to ensure objectivity and transparency, Hanwha Aerospace explained that it secured reliability and fairness through third-party verification by the Korea Management Certification Institute, a professional verification organization.
Shin Hyun-woo, President of Hanwha Aerospace, emphasized, "We will systematically carry out ESG management, which is a recent global management focus, and strengthen various activities to enhance sustainability."

Hanwha Aerospace has recently been accelerating its ESG management efforts. In the "2021 ESG Evaluation and Rating Announcement for Listed Companies" released last month by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS), Hanwha Aerospace received an integrated grade of A. This marks the second consecutive year receiving an A. Notably, in March, two female executives were appointed to increase board diversity, and in June, an ESG committee composed entirely of outside directors was launched to guarantee independence.
