President Moon: "If deemed safe, South Korea will lower the COVID-19 vaccination age"

[Asia Economy reporters Jungmin Ryu and Jieun Lee] On the 21st, President Moon Jae-in, during the live broadcast of "Dialogue with the President and the People, Back to Daily Life" on KBS, responded to questions regarding student vaccinations, stating, "We have currently lowered the vaccination age to 12 and above. For those aged 16 to 17, over 70% have been vaccinated. We will make various efforts, such as on-site vaccinations, to quickly implement vaccinations for even younger age groups."
President Moon added, "Furthermore, vaccinations have begun in the United States for children aged 5 to 12, corresponding to elementary and kindergarten students. We will closely monitor the progress, and if we determine that it is safe and effective, South Korea will also lower the vaccination age."
