According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 21st, as of 2 PM on that day, 38 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed.
Among them, 11 cases are related to two bathhouses in Buk-gu, 5 cases related to a daycare center in Buk-gu, 5 cases related to a kindergarten in Seo-gu, 4 cases related to a middle school in Gwangsan-gu, 4 cases linked to confirmed patients from other cities and provinces, 4 cases related to existing confirmed patients, and 5 cases with unknown infection routes detected through symptomatic testing.
Recently in the Gwangju area, 37 cases have been reported from two bathhouses in Buk-gu, 39 cases related to a middle school in Gwangsan-gu, 35 cases from two elementary schools in Gwangsan-gu, 10 cases related to a daycare center in Buk-gu, 16 cases related to a kindergarten in Seo-gu, 69 cases related to a nursing hospital in Seo-gu, and 44 cases linked to a large workplace in Gwangsan-gu.
Lee Dalju, Director of the Welfare and Health Bureau of Gwangju City, stated, "Infections are rapidly occurring in schools recently," and urged, "Please refrain from on-campus mobile classes and field trips as much as possible for the time being."
