The SDT team of Gyeongnam National University won the Grand Prize in the Planning category at the 2021 Changwon City Big Data Contest.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gyeongnam National University announced on the 18th that the SDT team from Gyeongnam National University won the grand prize in the planning category at the '2021 Changwon City Big Data Contest.'
The contest was organized to discover creative big data utilization ideas and services that contribute to the development of public interest by utilizing open public data.
The SDT team planned the 'Changwon City Crime Map Service for Proactive Crime Prevention Measures.'
This service proposes a Changwon-customized crime dataset constructed by combining various structured and unstructured data such as newspapers, floating population, housing, and population, along with a spatial-based crime prediction methodology using artificial intelligence.
Student representative Gong Gyeong-eop said, "I am happy that the results of our efforts and ideas to help the local community with my team members were well received by many people on the big stage of the national competition."
