According to the county, on the 18th, Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan visited the National Assembly and held consecutive meetings with key personnel related to budget review, including the offices of hometown lawmakers Min Byung-duk and Min Hyung-bae. He reiterated the need for increased national funding for major local projects such as the establishment of a kimchi raw material supply complex and the maintenance of rural village sewage systems and sewage pipelines, urging support for budget inclusion.
Governor Myeong Hyeon-gwan stated, “During the 7th local government administration over the past three and a half years, we have been pushing forward various projects, and we will make every effort until the end to secure the necessary budget so that these projects can bear fruit.”
Meanwhile, the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee officially launched the budget adjustment subcommittee on the 16th and began a full-scale review of next year's government budget, totaling 604 trillion won across 54 ministries.
A county official explained, “The budget subcommittee, known as the 'final gateway' of the National Assembly budget review, meticulously determines the reduction and increase amounts for each project’s budget after preliminary reviews by each standing committee. The subcommittee's resolution is finalized as next year's budget after comprehensive review and plenary session, and the legal deadline for budget approval is June 2, making the situation very urgent.”
