Retired Fire Officer Encourages Juniors After Visiting Bitgoeul National Safety Experience Center
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Retired firefighters from Gwangju visited the Bitgoeul National Safety Experience Center to encourage their juniors.
On the 18th, the Gwangju Metropolitan City Fire Safety Headquarters (Chief Go Minja) announced that 15 members of the non-profit organization of retired firefighters, the Gwangju Metropolitan City Retired Firefighters Association (President Park Manhwan), visited the Bitgoeul National Safety Experience Center.
The members of the Firefighters Association listened to the overall operation status of 23 experience facilities in 8 experience zones including mountain safety, heavy rain safety, earthquake safety, and fire safety within the safety experience center, and encouraged the juniors operating the center.
Park Manhwan, president of the Gwangju Retired Firefighters Association, said, “Safety can never be emphasized enough,” adding, “We hope that by experiencing various types of disaster response methods at the safety experience center, citizens’ safety awareness will be enhanced.”
Meanwhile, the Gwangju Retired Firefighters Association was first established in 2002 and has been carrying out various volunteer activities. On January 15th, it was officially approved as a non-profit organization, ‘Gwangju Metropolitan City Retired Firefighters Association,’ by Gwangju Metropolitan City.
With 130 members, the association conducts annual fire prevention campaigns and various volunteer activities.
