Daelim P&P Aims to Raise Agricultural Waste Vinyl Recycling Rate to 50%
Korea Environment Corporation, Jeonbuk Environmental Headquarters, Jeonbuk Provincial Government, and NongHyup Central Association Sign Business Agreement
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] Daelim P&PP announced on the 18th that it has signed a "Business Agreement for Building a Carbon Neutral Foundation in the Agricultural Waste Vinyl Recycling Sector" together with the Jeonbuk Environmental Headquarters of the Korea Environment Corporation, Jeonbuk Provincial Government, and the Jeonbuk Headquarters of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation. This agreement was made to establish a resource circulation structure that recycles agricultural waste vinyl to solve the waste vinyl garbage problem generated on farms while simultaneously supplying eco-friendly mulching films to farms.
Daelim P&PP aims to pilot supply upcycled products to farms in the Jeonbuk region starting next spring. Existing agricultural waste vinyl is heavily contaminated and contains many impurities, so it has been discarded or recycled only into low-value products such as drainage pipes or septic tanks.
Through this project, Daelim P&PP plans to raise the recycled raw material usage rate to an industry-leading level of 50%. In collaboration with the Environment Corporation, related technology development and pilot production have already been completed. Daelim P&PP applies D.FINE, a next-generation metallocene polyethylene product developed independently by DL Chemical, achieving new product-level quality despite using more than 50% recycled raw materials.

Daelim P&PP plans to upcycle approximately 10,000 tons of agricultural waste vinyl generated in the Jeonbuk region into eco-friendly products. When expanded nationwide, it is expected that about 100,000 tons can be recycled. This is equivalent to a reduction effect of 130,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Daelim P&PP, the Environment Corporation, Jeonbuk Provincial Government, and the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation plan to utilize this not only for agricultural mulching films but also for various product lines including municipal waste collection films and household volume-based waste bags in the future.
