Gwangju Buk-gu, the Only District in Gwangju City to Receive the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award for 'Architectural Administration Evaluation'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju City (District Mayor Moon In) announced on the 18th that it was selected as an excellent institution in the general category in the '2021 Architectural Administration Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport targeting 243 local governments nationwide (17 metropolitan, 226 basic) and received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award.
The Architectural Administration Evaluation is a system established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport since 1999 to evaluate local government architectural administration. This year, a total of 21 local governments were selected as excellent institutions, including 19 in the general category and 2 in the special category, with Buk-gu being the only one selected in Gwangju City.
Buk-gu received high scores across all evaluation indicators, including ▲rationality of administrative procedures ▲building safety management ▲appropriateness of building maintenance ▲efforts to improve architectural administration.
In particular, Buk-gu promoted prompt and sound architectural work such as compliance with the building review and permit processing period, implementation of housing environment improvement projects for vulnerable groups, and intensive inspection of buildings handled by architects on behalf of clients.
District Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “This award is the result of actively responding to the demand for architectural administration and striving to improve resident satisfaction,” and added, “We will continue to realize architectural administration trusted by residents through fair and transparent work processing.”
