Namwon-si Hosts 'Resident Capacity Building Project Performance Sharing Meeting'
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 18th that it will hold a performance sharing event for the Cultural Storage Resident Capacity Building Project at Midotang and Red Brick on the 19th.
This performance sharing event will showcase the results of the ‘Midotang Cultural Storage Renewal Project,’ which was conducted as a recognized project by the Urban Regeneration Support Center throughout this year, including the resident capacity building projects (Cultural Storage Urban Regeneration University, Cultural Storage Resident Contest), with exhibitions, performances, and film screenings available.
In particular, members of NOWWON, who are participating in the youth cultural startup space creation project promoted as a new policy by Namwon City along with the urban regeneration project in the old downtown area, will support film screenings, performances, and exhibitions as they prepare to move into the space and start their businesses.
The city expects this to be an opportunity to explore the potential for communication and cooperation between residents and youth communities through collaboration between the youth cultural startup resident groups organized and nurtured through the urban regeneration project and the teams selected through the resident contest project, aiming for mutual development.
From 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM on the 19th, the vacant house exhibition ‘美 The Photo Studio’ will be held at the old Midotang.
Visitors can take photos at photo zones created by resident projects and also view ‘Memories of the Bathhouse,’ a work by students of the Cultural Storage Urban Regeneration University.
Starting at 6:30 PM on the same day, the courtyard of the Red Brick will be transformed into ‘Ddeulan Theater,’ creating a camping atmosphere.
After enjoying a performance by the ‘Namwon City Rap Music Research Association,’ attendees can watch a film (screening: CODA). Due to space limitations, the film screening is limited to 30 people.
Citizens wishing to attend are encouraged to make reservations promptly.
Reservations can be made by calling the Namwon City Urban Regeneration Support Center or by accessing the center’s Facebook account and leaving a comment or sending a DM.
A city official said, “We hope citizens enjoy cultural life alongside urban regeneration, and we will do our best to approach citizens through diverse and continuous urban regeneration projects.”
