Jindo-gun, Basic Public Interest Direct Payment of 16.3 Billion Won... Payment by the End of November
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do will pay 16.3 billion KRW in 2021 Basic Public Interest Direct Payment Project (hereinafter referred to as Public Interest Direct Payment) subsidies.
According to the county on the 18th, post-verification such as compliance checks for 5,370 registered farms for the 2021 Basic Public Interest Direct Payment was completed by the end of last month, and after finalizing the modification of recipient registration information by the end of next month, the payment will be made.
The recipients of the Public Interest Direct Payment are farms registered with agricultural management entity information and are classified into small-scale direct payments and area-based direct payments according to eligibility requirements.
Small-scale direct payments provide 1.2 million KRW per farm unit regardless of area if all small-scale eligibility requirements are met, while area-based direct payments are paid by applying standard unit prices according to cultivation area segments and farmland types.
The total support scale of the Public Interest Direct Payment system for 5,370 farms (area 8,061 hectares) in Jindo-gun is 16.3 billion KRW.
This amount is a 2.4% increase from last year's 15.9 billion KRW, with 13.2 billion KRW (2,815 farms) in area-based direct payments and 3.1 billion KRW (2,555 farms) in small-scale direct payments being paid.
The Basic Public Interest Direct Payment system is paid to promote the public functions of agriculture and rural areas such as environmental conservation, rural maintenance, and food safety through agricultural activities, and to induce income stability for farmers.
A county official said, "In a situation where the burden on farms is increasing due to rural labor shortages caused by COVID-19, heavy rains, and abnormal weather, we hope that the Public Interest Direct Payment will help stabilize the management of small and medium-sized farms even a little."
