Army, Navy, and even Marine Corps... Pukyong National University to Operate the Nation's Only 3 ROTC Programs
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, trainee reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Pukyong National University has decided to establish and operate a Marine Corps ROTC program, following the Navy and Army ROTC programs, in consultation with the Navy.
Pukyong National University is the only university in the country operating three ROTC programs.
Since March, Pukyong National University has been discussing the establishment and operation of the Marine Corps ROTC program with the Marine Corps Headquarters.
Recently, with the Navy's approval, recruitment and selection of candidates will be promoted starting in 2022.
Pukyong National University will sign an agreement with the Marine Corps in December to operate the ROTC program and will begin recruiting candidates from March next year.
As of 2022, a total of 40 students, 20 from each of the first and second years, will be selected and the program is scheduled to operate from 2023.
