Buk-gu Auto Street, the First Nationwide Shopping District, Obtains ISO 45001 International Certification
First Traditional Market and Shopping District Nationwide to Receive ISO Safety and Health Management System Certification
Proactive Response to Serious Accident Punishment Act Enforcement in Automobile Street, Contributing to Customer Safety Assur
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] On the 17th, the Gwangju Buk-gu District Office (Mayor Moon In) announced that the Gwangju Automobile Street Merchants Association (President Choi Yeonmo) has become the first traditional market and shopping street nationwide to obtain the safety and health management system 'ISO 45001' certification.
ISO 45001 is the highest level of international certification awarded by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) after evaluating various risk factors and industrial accident prevention measures that may occur in workplaces.
As the Automobile Street Merchants Association has acquired international certification, it plans to proactively respond to the Serious Accident Punishment Act and make greater efforts to ensure the safety of customers visiting the street.
Buk-gu has focused on revitalizing the shopping street since designating it as a specialized shopping district for automobiles in 2003, registering the merchants association in 2008, installing symbolic sculptures, creating public parking lots, and installing guide signs.
In particular, this year, an unmanned parking fee payment station was installed as part of the parking environment improvement project.
Additionally, together with the Merchants Association and the Specialized Market Development Project Group, various projects are being promoted to strengthen the competitiveness of the shopping street, including ISO 45001 certification, installation of labor cost display boards, and merchant education under the 'Automobile Street Specialized Market First Step Foundation Project.'
Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, "I hope that with this ISO 45001 certification, Automobile Street will develop into a safer and more vibrant representative shopping street of the region," and added, "We will continue to provide active support for the recovery and growth of traditional markets and shopping streets."
