[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] tvN apologized for inserting the Taegeukgi (South Korean flag) into the Japanese flag during the broadcast of the 2022 Qatar World Cup Asian final qualifier match between Oman and the Japan national football team.
The Japan national team played against the Oman national football team on the 17th at 1 a.m. at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman. The match was broadcast live through a tvN show, and during the introduction of the Japanese team, tvN inserted the Taegeukgi instead of the Hinomaru (Japanese flag).
The Taegeukgi was displayed for approximately 25 seconds.
In response, the tvN show stated, "There was a graphic error in the broadcast of the 2022 Qatar World Cup final qualifier match between Oman and Japan on tvN. We sincerely apologize for the discomfort caused and will pay closer attention to production in the future."
