Busan City Appoints Presidents of Affiliated Transportation and Urban Corporations... Busan Facilities Corporation Reappointed
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan City has decided to appoint Han Moon-hee, former Head of Management Planning Headquarters at Korea Railroad Corporation, as the President of Busan Transportation Corporation, and Kim Yong-hak, former President of Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, as the President of Busan Urban Corporation, effective on the 18th.
Busan City excluded favoritism and appointed qualified candidates with expertise and insight. After receiving the personnel verification report from the City Council, they analyzed the reasons for any disqualification opinions.
Han Moon-hee, President of Busan Transportation Corporation, led management innovation while serving as a key executive at the headquarters and field headquarters of Korea Railroad Corporation.
President Han is a railroad expert who laid the foundation for enhancing the public value of railroads and providing safe and convenient railroad services. During the personnel verification, he expressed his willingness to actively communicate with labor unions and strengthen labor-management cooperation.
Kim Yong-hak, President of Busan Urban Corporation, promoted the development and establishment projects of over ten industrial complexes including Busan Sinpyeong Jangnim Industrial Complex, Noksan Industrial Complex, and Saenggok Industrial Complex while working at LH Corporation.
President Kim achieved a management surplus within two years of establishment during his tenure as President of Incheon Urban Corporation and contributed to the development of the Unbuk Complex Leisure Complex and the foundation of Yeongjong International City.
Busan City appointed an expert with no direct interests in the local community as the President of the Urban Corporation to prevent corruption incidents like the Daejang-dong development project.
After analyzing the reasons for disqualification of the candidates for President of Busan Transportation Corporation and Busan Urban Corporation, Busan City confirmed that there were no suspicions regarding the seven major criteria for personnel verification of high-ranking government officials.
Park Hyung-jun, Mayor of Busan, said, “We excluded personnel who the City Council might reject during personnel verification, such as camp personnel, and carefully appointed experts. I hope the public will observe and judge their capabilities as presidents.”
