Chosun University Successfully Completes 'AI·SW Robot Coding Special Lecture' for Gwangju Kindergarten Students

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The SW-Centered University Project Group at Chosun University announced on the 17th that it successfully concluded the 'Visiting Kindergarten AI·SW Robot Coding Special Lecture' for kindergarten students in the Gwangju area.
The AI·SW Robot Coding special lecture held on the 15th at Cheongdam Kindergarten located in Sinyong-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, was organized to provide children with essential AI·SW education courses for the 4th Industrial Revolution era and to support their growth into outstanding talents who will lead the future.
The special lecture was designed as an education program using robots to create a future city, aiming to foster imagination and creativity in our kindergarten students who will live in the future, and to help improve enjoyment and interest in coding, as well as students' cooperation, consideration, concession, and concentration.
The program was conducted by Professor Cho Young-joo, in charge of the SW-Centered University Project Group, along with the faculty of the SW-Centered University Project Group and the student instructors No Chi-sang, Ha Tae-jun, Kim Jun-hyun, and Kim Yong-su from the Department of Computer Engineering, who graduated from the Chosun University-Korea Electric Power Data Network (KEPCO KDN)-Jeollanam-do Office of Education SW Education Instructor Training Course, the nation's first industry-academia-government project.
A kindergarten student who participated in the project said, "Playing with the robot is really exciting," and added, "I want to meet my robot friend every day and take it home with me."
Kim Myung-sook, principal of Cheongdam Kindergarten, said, "If more opportunities for such good classes are provided in the future, I expect our children to approach seemingly difficult artificial intelligence and robots as easily as they did today, and for many children to imagine their future and dreams more clearly."
Professor Cho Young-joo, in charge of the SW-Centered University Project Group, said, "AI·SW coding education is currently a globally common subject taught and an important field for future development," adding, "We will continue to develop and expand educational programs so that AI·SW education can be conducted in more kindergarten settings."
