Fire in Multi-family House in Sillim-dong, Seoul... 60-year-old with Physical Disability Dies
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] At around 2:33 a.m. on the 16th, a fire broke out in a multi-family house in Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul, resulting in the death of one resident.
The fire department, which arrived at the scene, extinguished the fire by around 3 a.m. that day. However, a man in his 60s, Mr. A, who lived in the house, died due to the fire.
According to police investigation, Mr. A was a physically disabled person with limited mobility and was known to usually use an electric wheelchair. Five other residents living in the same house were rescued by the fire department, and another five evacuated on their own.

The fire is believed to have started in the basement level 1 one-room apartment where Mr. A resided. The fire department and police are currently investigating the exact cause and circumstances of the fire.
