Wanju County Council Member Yoon Subong "Leading Role in Attracting Public Institutions to Innovation City"

[Wanju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Yoon Soo-bong, a member of the Wanju County Council, argued that Wanju County should take a leading role in attracting public institutions for Innovation City Season 2.

On the 16th, during a 5-minute speech at the 2nd regular session of the 264th Wanju County Council, Councilor Yoon diagnosed, "Jeonbuk Innovation City, established in areas such as Wanju Iseo, has achieved quantitative growth with 13 institutions relocating and surpassing the initial planned population target, aiming to be an agro-life hub and the third financial center."

He continued, "However, there is also an analysis that the population inducement effect due to the relocation of public institutions is significantly lower than that of innovation cities in other regions," emphasizing, "Qualitative improvement beyond quantitative achievements is necessary."

To this end, Councilor Yoon stressed the importance of expanding infrastructure such as transportation networks that strengthen connections with the hub city Jeonju to continuously create jobs and attract external population, as well as securing the quality of life for residents within the innovation city related to education and healthcare.

In particular, Councilor Yoon urged, "Now, Wanju County must respond proactively and preemptively to attract additional public institutions for Innovation City Season 2."

He requested, "While it is important to gather all political power from the government, National Assembly, province, and county to attract public institutions, above all, land is necessary," and added, "We will establish a leading cooperative system with the Ministry of Education, Jeonbuk National University, and Jeollabuk-do, which are the managing entities of the national and public property cluster area in Iseo-myeon, Wanju County."
