View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Department of Computer Engineering at Honam University (Department Head Kim Nam-ho) announced on the 16th that third-year students Choi Jun-hwan and Lee Won-bin, along with third-year student Lee Ha-neul from the Department of Chemical Engineering at GIST, jointly submitted a 'Health Training Chatbot' and won the Encouragement Award (prize money of 500,000 KRW) at the 'Gwangju-style AI Problem Solving Idea Contest.'
This contest, hosted by the Gwangju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, was held to discover creative ideas utilizing AI and blockchain algorithms, foster regionally specialized talent, and promote the creation and activation of a Gwangju-style AI industry ecosystem.
Under the guidance of Professor Baek Ran from the Department of Computer Engineering, students Choi Jun-hwan and Lee Won-bin, who won the award in this contest, said, "Our continuous experience presenting undergraduate papers at the Korea Multimedia Society motivated us to take on this new challenge in the contest," adding, "Through the contest, teaming up with GIST student Lee Ha-neul allowed us to share diverse ideas and gain a unique experience in understanding the meaning of collaboration."
