Creation of 'Kkumkkuneun Yesulteo' in Goheung, Changwon, and Taebaek
Idle Facilities Transformed into Converged Cultural Arts Education Spaces
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 16th that it has selected five cities as sites for the 'Dreaming Art Space': Goheung in Jeollanam-do (Goheung Lifelong Education Center), Yeonsu in Incheon (Gachon Human Resources Development Center), Changwon in Gyeongnam (Changwon Intercity Bus Terminal Public Parking Lot), Taebaek in Gangwon (Coal Mine Company Housing Complex), and Pocheon in Gyeonggi (Yeongpyeong Elementary School). The ministry supports the establishment of dedicated cultural and arts education facilities where local residents can consistently engage with creative cultural arts education programs.
'Dreaming Art Space' is a project that transforms idle facilities that have lost their function due to population decline into integrated cultural and arts education dedicated spaces. Previously, six cities including Jeonju in Jeonbuk, Seongnam in Gyeonggi, and Gangneung in Gangwon were selected, revitalizing the local cultural arts education ecosystem. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to select four additional locations next year, bringing the total to fifteen sites.
