What Did They Do After School? ... Busan Office of Education Ranks No.1 Nationwide in After-School Program Satisfaction for 2 Consecutive Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan's after-school programs are gaining attention as they have won the national evaluation for the second consecutive year.
In the after-school satisfaction survey conducted by the Ministry of Education targeting all education offices nationwide, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education ranked first nationwide for two consecutive years, following last year.
Both overall student satisfaction and parent satisfaction across elementary, middle, and high schools were ranked first nationwide for two consecutive years.
According to the Ministry of Education's "2021 Academic Year After-School Satisfaction Survey," the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education recorded a student satisfaction rate of 89.7% and a parent satisfaction rate of 87.0%.
These rates are 5.3% higher for students (national average 84.4%) and 3.2% higher for parents (national average 83.8%) compared to the national average satisfaction rates.
By school level, student satisfaction was highest in middle schools (92.8%), followed by elementary schools (89.7%) and high schools (86.9%).
Parent satisfaction was also highest in middle schools (92.2%), followed by high schools (88.0%) and elementary schools (85.7%).
The success of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education is attributed to the expansion and operation of distinctive cultural, arts, and physical education programs linked to the local community, as well as the continuous operation of after-school programs at schools through in-person, remote, and blended methods.
