Crown Confectionery Launches 'Krople' Snack Cookies
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Crown Confectionery announced on the 16th that it will launch a snack called 'Croffle,' which captures the taste and shape of croffles (a food made by pressing croissant dough in a waffle iron).
'Croffle' is characterized by its sweet and savory flavor made with French butter and caramel, allowing consumers to conveniently enjoy the croffle, which was previously only available at dessert cafes, as a snack.
Croffles are a popular snack mainly among young people. Recently, they have gained popularity overseas, including in Japan, establishing themselves as a representative 'K-dessert.' In response, Crown Confectionery became the first in Korea to develop a croffle snack, succeeding after hundreds of market surveys and tests.
It is also notable for replicating the original shape exactly. The grid pattern, as if pressed firmly by a waffle iron, is preserved, and the spaces are densely coated with butter and caramel, creating a crispy yet soft texture that crumbles easily.
