Ilsan Bridge, which began free passage at the end of last month, is expected to return to toll collection sometime this week.
On the 15th, the Administrative Division 2 of Suwon District Court (Presiding Judge Yang Soon-joo) approved Ilsan Bridge Co., Ltd.'s request for a suspension of execution to halt the effect of Gyeonggi Province's second public interest disposition banning toll collection.
Earlier, on the 26th of last month, Gyeonggi Province issued a first public interest disposition notice to Ilsan Bridge, canceling its designation as a project operator to implement free passage, adjusted the toll to "0 won," and began free passage at noon on the 27th.
Ilsan Bridge filed a main lawsuit requesting the cancellation of Gyeonggi Province's disposition and simultaneously applied for a suspension of execution to halt the effect of the disposition until the main case ruling was delivered.
The court accepted Ilsan Bridge's provisional injunction request on the 3rd, putting a stop to the free passage policy.
However, on the same day, Gyeonggi Province announced a second public interest disposition banning toll collection by Ilsan Bridge, intending to continue free passage.
This was with the promise to prepay the minimum operating revenue guarantee from the legally determined appropriate compensation amount set by the court until the main ruling on the first public interest disposition.
Ilsan Bridge again filed a lawsuit to cancel this disposition by Gyeonggi Province and applied for a suspension of execution. The court sided with Ilsan Bridge once more.
